Data were collected from the Khenchela Agricultural Services Department (DSA) and the National Plant Protection Institute at Hacen Badi, El-Harrach (wilaya of Algiers). These data showed that forty-three communes out of fifty-two (43/52) in seventeen Algerian wilayas contained an outbreak of C. perniciosa, an infestation percentage of 83%., and that fourteen communes out of twenty-one (14/21) in the wilaya of Khenchela contained outbreaks of C. perniciosa, with a percentage of 67% infestation. It is interesting to note that the our survey revealed 4 new outbreaks in the communes of (Irris, Ichemoul, Tahar, Sidi Maarouf and Kaous) in the wilayas of Batna and Djijel, and 3 new outbreaks in three communes (Baghai, El Hamma (Bazgatou) and El Mahmal) in the wilaya of Khenchela that had not been reported by the DSA.
