As a demonstrative example, a DC motor is considered and modelled as a First Order Plus Time Delay Plant (FOPTD) using data acquisition-based Arduino. Then, simple analytical rules are used to design a robust Fractional Order Controller (FOC) which require a high computing power. Several validation tests of the FOC have been curried out via Arduino–Simulink interface.
