The main objectives were to examine the reasons and motivations behind the decision to use English as a language of instruction in the Master's program in Biology and identify the advantages and disadvantages of implementing English as a medium of instruction in the biology program, as perceived by both students and instructors. A convergent parallel mixed methods research design was used to collect data from teachers’ interviews and students’ questionnaires. The study findings revealed positive views of both informants towards the implementation of English as a medium of instruction at the department of biology at Abbes Laghrour University. The study's implications suggest that incorporating English as a medium language in biology courses can enhance students' comprehension, communication, and analytical skillsenUsing English as a medium language of instruction:perspectives and challenges Master 2 biology as a case studyThesis
