Abstract
تتمثل الرسالة الجوهرية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية هي تعزيز الصحة والحفاظ على سلامة العالم وخدمة الضعفاء، فالحصول على رعاية صحية ملائمة وميسورة التكلفة حق من حقوق الإنسان، والرعاية الصحية الشاملة مبدأ أساسي يسترشد به عمل المنظمة. ونظراً لجائحة كوفيد-19، انعقدت جمعية الصحة العالمية الثالثة والسبعون مرتين منفصلتين ،فقد عقدت الجمعية دورتها الافتراضية الأولى بحدها الأدنى يومي 18 و19 ماي بجدول أعمال مقتضب يركز على الجائحة العالمية. وفي تلك الدورة، اعتمدت الدول الأعضاء قراراً تاريخياً شاركت في رعايته أكثر من 130 دولة لدفع العالم نحو التكاتف لمكافحة جائحة كوفيد19. وركز المشاركون في الدورة التي دامت يومين، بمن في ذلك رؤساء الدول الأربعة عشر الذين شاركوا فيها، على رسالة متسقة مفادها أن الوحدة العالمية هي الأداة الأمضى لمكافحة الجائحة. وجاء القرار بمثابة تتويج ملموس لهذا النداء، راسماً خريطة الطريق نحو إنهاء هذه الجائحة.
The core mission of the World Health Organization is to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. Access to adequate and
affordable health care is a human right, and universal health care is a fundamental principle guiding the work of the Organization. In view of the
COVID-19 pandemic, the Seventy-third World Health Assembly convened twice separately, and the Assembly held its first virtual session at a minimum
on 18 and 19 May with a brief agenda focusing on the global pandemic. At that session, the member states adopted a historic decision co-sponsored by
more than 130 countries to push the world towards joining forces to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Participants in the two-day session, including the 14
heads of state who participated in it, focused on a consistent message that global unity is the ultimate tool in fighting the pandemic. The decision came
as a tangible culmination of this call, drawing a road map towards ending this pandemic.
