| dc.description.abstract | الملخص : تُعد المسألة البربرية من القضايا المحورية في السياسة الاستعمارية الفرنسية في الجزائر، حيث سعت الإدارة الاستعمارية إلى توظيف التنوع الثقافي واللغوي داخل المجتمع الجزائري بهدف تفكيك وحدته الوطنية. ركزت فرنسا على تمييز البربر عن العرب من خلال منظومة قانونية وتعليمية وثقافية تهدف إلى فصلهم عن انتمائهم الإسلامي والعربي. اعتمدت هذه السياسة على تقديم البربر كجماعة ذات خصوصية "أقرب إلى أوروبا"، لتبرير إدماجهم في المنظومة الاستعمارية، مقابل عزل العرب وتهميشهم. وقد تمثلت أدوات هذه السياسة في الترتيبات الإدارية، والقوانين الخاصة، وفرض التعليم الفرنسي، ومحاربة الأوقاف، وضرب البنى الدينية والاجتماعية التقليدية. ورغم الجهود الفرنسية، واجهت هذه السياسة مقاومة متعددة الأشكال من طرف الحركة الوطنية، والسكان المحليين، وحتى بعض المستوطنين، وانتهت بفشل نسبي لكنها تركت آثارًا عميقة في النسيج الاجتماعي الجزائري، ما تزال امتداداتها ملموسة حتى ما بعد الاستقلال. Abstract : The Berber Question was a central pillar of French colonial policy in Algeria. The colonial administration sought to exploit the cultural and linguistic divisions within Algerian society to undermine national unity. By promoting the Berbers as a distinct group “closer to Europe” than the Arabs, France implemented a range of legislative, educational, religious, and administrative measures aimed at detaching them from their Arab-Islamic identity. These efforts included the establishment of separate legal codes, the imposition of French-style education, the confiscation of religious endowments (waqfs), and the weakening of traditional social and religious structures. Despite these initiatives, the policy faced strong resistance from nationalist movements, local populations, and even some European settlers. Although it ultimately failed to achieve its objectives fully, the Berber policy left a lasting imprint on Algeria’s social fabric, with repercussions that continued to resonate in the post-independence era. | |
