Abstract
Contribution to the assessment of the possible impact of air pollution on the synthesis
of chlorophyll in Juniperus
This work has focused on the study of air pollution in the Khenchla forest using three woody
species (Juniperus Oxycedrus L.) and (Juniperus Phoenicea L.) and (Juniperus Thurifera L.) which
is endemic. In this context 5 sites were chosen for the collection of the three species, essentially
concerning needles and whorls. A biochemical analysis of chlorophylls was carried out in the
laboratory of the Faculty of Nature and Life Sciences at Khenchela University. The results shows a
variation of chlorophylle concentration and the site is Ouled Yacoub (St4) is (1.29 μg/g MF). (J.
oxycedrus L.) had the highest concentration of chlorophyll in the stations considered. (J. Phoenicea
L.) and (J. thurifera L.) had the lowest concentrations (0.91 μg / g MF), (0.94 μ
g / g MF). The
specimens evil (J.thurifera L.) have the highest content as female individuals. Studies, state theses
and research projects, a series of symposia specifically dedicated to this tree, as well as several
hundred papers published on various subjects constitute a solid basis of knowledge concerning (J.
thurifera L.) Concretely, the atmospheric pollution in the study area is alarming and the
consequences can be abiotic stress in the Juniperus.
