Abstract
ABSTRACT:
The study relied on a qualitative and quantitative investigation designed to provide a particular
depiction of the reading comprehension difficulties. The research hypothesis raised in this study, had
been confirmed. The hypothesis confirmed that students who achieve good level in vocabulary were
better in reading skill then those who did not.
The thesis consisted of an introductory chapter adopted to conduct the research, and the rest of the
dissertation was divided into THREE main sections;
-The first chapter dealt with the literature review that related to the study. It was divided into two
main sections;
SECTION ONE presented general information about the reading skills.
SECTION TWO with the reading comprehension.
-The third chapter attempted to explore students and teachers perspectives and opinions
towards the issue under investigation. A questionnaire of eighteen (18) items was administered to the
participants of computer sciences Master students of the university of Khenchela and a questionnaire
of ten (10) items was distributed to the teachers during the academic year 2018-2019.
THE FINDINGS REVEALED THE FOLLOWING
-There should be more careful attention paid by the Ministry of Higher Education and Educational
Planners to design modals of ESP courses and syllabus according to the needs of the specialty to
motivate them.
-Teachers have to guide the students and give them the appropriate methods to motivate them to read
more in order to obtain and acquire new terms that will help them to become good readers.
-There should be a program designed from the ministry that guide students to be skillful
readers.
