Abstract
Abstract
The study at hand seeks to explore the impact of content and size of texts used as
exercises in translation sessions on students’ quality translating and learning. It attempts
to explore the difficulties students may encounter during translating a text from Arabic
into English and vice versa. The study took place at the department of English in the
University of Abbes Laghrour Khenchela during the academic year 2019/2020.the
research methodology adopted in this study is a descriptive method, the data was
gathered through a questionnaire from a sample of thirty of 3rd year students of English.
Findings obtained from data analysis revealed two main categories of difficulties, the
first one relates to the content of texts translated; text types, and the language level used.
The second is about the size of texts translated and the time frame granted by the
teachers in classroom to achieve the task of translation.
