Abstract
ABSTRACT
The increasing water scarcity in the world on the one hand and the rapid growth of the
population in urban areas on the other hand require the use of appropriate water management
practices. The reuse of treated wastewater can be considered as an additional hydraulic
resource, particularly important in semi-arid areas, such as near the town of Khenchela. The
aim of this study was to evaluate the functioning of the study station and the quality of the
treated water for agricultural purposes.
Sampling companions were scheduled every fortnight for three months from January to
March 2017. Results of the evaluation analysis of the station showed that the treatment did
not have a significant effect on the parameters measured only for TSS at Noticed a significant
decrease after treatment, also the statistical treatment confirmed that the EC is influenced by
the effluents of rain as the effluents of the mines. In addition, to classify water quality and
assess its relevance for irrigation purposes, tools were used such as: SAR, SSP, PS, MR and
PI were calculated, with the projection of our results on of the different diagrams (Riverside,
Wilcox, Piper). The results of most tools classify our waters as C3-S1, indicating high salinity
and low sodium content in water, thus an average to mediocre quality that can be used for
irrigation. exchangeable sodium safe soil.
