Abstract
Bee products (honey, propolis and royal jelly) are very diverse biological compounds, which gives them many properties, both nutritionally and medicinally. The aim of our study is to evaluate the antibacterial activity and the antioxidant activity of four types of honey "Sidr honey (Zizyphus jujuba honey), mountain honey, Eruca sativa honey (white honey), Talghoufet honey (honey of Euphorbia characias", propolis and royal jelly (GR), harvested from different regions of Algeria, as well as the effect of these products, on six bacterial strains: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, clinical staphylococcus , Bacillus cereus, klebssila pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aerugenosa by the diffusion technique on agar medium. To identify the active ingredients of these bee products, phytochemical analyzes were carried out and revealed the presence of flavonoids and polyphenols in the trios types of honey tested "Sidr honey (Zizyphus jujuba honey), mountain honey, Eruca sativa honey (white honey). Physicochemical analysis (pH, humidity, electrical conductivity) of all the products used showed a difference in values from one sample to another However, they all meet international standards. The antibacterial activity was evaluated in vitro by the diffusion method on agar medium and the results obtained showed a high sensitivity of the strain S.aureus and S.clinique with diameters of the zones of inhibition ranging from 10-35 mm, and a moderate sensitivity of the other strains (Gram positive and Gram negative) to the different hive products used. while they were less effective against E. coli, Pseudomonas klebessila and Bacillus.
