dc.description.abstractAbstract Theoverallaim ofthisresearchistoinvestigatetheimportanceofusingtherepetitivedrills techniquesinteachingoralexpressionandtoknow towhatextentthesetechniquesare usefulandhelpfulforlearnerstoenhanceanddeveloptheircommunicativecompetence.To meetthisend,amixedmethodsresearchwasfollowedrelyingontwodifferentresearch instrument:aquestionnaireforstudentsandinterviewsforteachers.Aquestionnairewas administeredto(50)fiftystudentswhiletheinterviewwasdonewiththreeteachersoforal expressioncourse.Thecollecteddatawereanalyzedquantitativelyandqualitatively.The resultsofthestudyrevealthatbothEFLteachersandlearnersarefamiliarwiththerepetitive drillstechniques,thefindingsalsoshowthatfirstyearEnglishstudentsaremoreawareand mindfulabouttheimportanceofRDT inimprovingtheiroralproficiency.From another perspective,EFLteachersagreethat usingrepetitivedrillstechniquesisoneofthemost effectiveandbeneficialtoolstoreinforceandamelioratefirstyearEnglishstudent’sspeaking skill.Asarecommendation,Teachersoforalexpressionshoulddotheirbesttoimprove theoralcapacitiesoftheirlearners.Theyoughttovaryteachingstrategies,varyoral activitiesandcarefullyselectthetopicsfordiscussion.
