dc.description.abstractالملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز أوجه التباين والتشابه في معاملة الأسرى بين المقاومة الوطنية الجزائرية وجيش الاحتلال الفرنسي خلال الفترة الممتدة من 1830 إلى 1916، وذلك من خلال تتبع ظروف وقوعالأسر، وأنماط المعاملة، والدوافع التي كانت تحكم كل طرف سواء كانت إنسانية، دينية، أو سياسي، وقد كشفت الدراسة عن تباين جوهري بين الجانبين في تصور مفهوم "الأسير" والتعامل معه، فبرغم من قلة إمكانيات المقاومات الشعبية، إلا أن معاملتها للأسرى تميزت غاليا بطابع إنساني متأثر بالتعاليم الإسلامية والموروث الثقافي المحلي، في المقابل فإن جيش الاحتلال الفرنسي اعتمد في أغلب الأحيان سياسة انتقامية تتسم بالعنف والتعذيب والإهانة، ضمن منهجية استعمارية تهدف إلى كسر الروح النضالية وردع أي تمرد. Abstract: This study aims to highlight the similarities and differences in the treatment of prisoners between the Algerian national resistance and the French colonial army during the period from 1830 to 1916, by examining the circumstances of captivity, the modes of treatment, and the motivations-whether humanitarian, religious, or political-that guided each side's behavior. The findings revealed a fundamental divergence in how both parties conceived and treated the notion of a « prisoner ». Despite the limited resources of the popular resistance, its treatment of captives was generally characterized by a humane approach, influenced by Islamic teachings and local cultural heritage. In contrast, the French colonial army often adopted a retaliatory policy marked by violence, torture, and humiliation, as part of a colonial strategy aimed at breaking the spirit of resistance and deterring any rebellion.
