Abstract
Abstract The present work is devoted to the study of the impact of a potential pollution induced by visible gaseous effluents, in the commune of Ain Mimoun in the Wilaya of Khenchela; where the forest is subject to constraints of industrial particle discharges from the baryte exploitation factory. The species recommended in this study is the holm oak which is an essence used for its properties of indicator of the presence of polluting elements in the ecosphere by its apparent tolerance. We carried out samples on the limbus of the green oak leaves of five stations, to collect and analyze the chlorophyll contents, in the laboratory of the Faculty of Sciences of Nature and Life. Fluctuations in chlorophyll levels between the near and far sampling stations of the factory were found. The results revealed high concentrations of chlorophylls in the stations considered to be the most polluted. These grades differ from one station to another. They are high at stations S1, S2 and S4 and low at stations S3 and S5. Visible air pollution in the study area is alarming and the consequences can be abiotic stress in the holm oak that can lead to dieback.
