Abstract
In this work, Perovskite CH3NH3PbBr3 thin films were grown on glass sub
strates by mixing PbBr2 with CH3NH3Br in DMF using dip coating technique
in air atmosphere at 30 s of dip time. In order to investigate the formation of
C H3NH3PbBr3 perovskite phase, the films were subjected to air annealing treat
ment for one hour at 100 ℃. The deposited films were characterized by XRD,
SEM, Raman, and FTIR. The bandgap was calculated by Tauc plot equation using
MATLAB Software. The results revealed the presence of cubic (CH3NH3PbBr3)
phase and the formation of organic-inorganic halide bond in the inorganic frame
work and organic CH3 stretching/bending of C–H bond in the films. The surface
film morphology changed from a porous surface to a homogeneous structure
with large grain sizes after annealing at 100 ℃. The UV–visible analysis of the
C H3NH3PbBr3 films shows transparency in the visible range after annealing treat
ment, with a slight decrease in the optical gap from 2.45 to 2.14 eV. After air
annealing, the photocurrent of the films significantly increases from 2 to 11 mA,
while the photosensitivity decreased from 4.7 V down to 1.58 V. In terms of meth
ylene blue (MB) degradation, the annealed perovskite film had a better degrada
tion ratio of 78.25% under solar sunlight for 3 h. This will open new ideas for the
development of perovskite films to solve the photocatalytic problems and treat
organic polluted water under solar sunlight.
