Abstract
ABSTRACT:
Water, simple molecule, essential for the continuity of any kind of life and it is important for the development of
populations. The increase of water demands of a good water quality present a current challenge for governments
including Algeria.
This work aims to evaluate the physico-chemical quality of Groundwater and the surface water in the basin of
Mellagou -Bouhmama- north-west of Khenchela, For this aim, we have taken 13 samples of water 1 source 9
Wells and 3 in the Mellagou valley ,Chemical, physicochemical parameters and heavy metals were investigated
in treated water. These are the determinants of safety criteria, water.
The overall water quality Analysis has revealed that 92% of controlled drillings of good quality (sulphated calcic
facies), 8% are of average quality (strong mineralization, belong to chlorinated sodic facies).
The interpretation of correlation ratios of chemical elements shows that the acquisition of the groundwater
mineralization depends on the crossing geological substratum.
