Abstract
This study was an investigation to detect the relationship between empathy and language
proficiency. It aims to put forward a few ideas about the nature of empathy and look at it as a
process which plays a crucial role in first language learning and foreign language learning as well as the use of language for dialogues and connection building between humans.
It states also the level of empathy needed in language learning and find out if there is correlation between empathy and other factors.
