dc.description.abstract | Abstract This research aims to study how business collocations are translated from Arabic into English among third year students at the department of English, in Abbas Laghrour University. More precisely, following a translating approach, this study investigates the students’ translations of business collocations and the strategies they employ, and explores the students’ awareness and competence of business collocations. Our sample consisted of 55 students that were randomly chosen. Data was collected through a translation test that included 17 business collocation items to be translated from Arabic into English. The study revealed that the majority of the students translated the business collocations literally. This proved that they are not aware of the nature of business collocations and have a very low vocabulary competence of these collocations. | |
