Abstract
Abstract
The current study aims at studying to identifying the effect of
authentic materials on the development of academic writing skill of third
year student in the department of English at Khenchela University. Along a
descriptive study, the attempt was to highlight the relation existing between
students’ writing skill proficiency and the use of authentic material in the
classroom. The questionnaires used on the population of both students
enrolled for the academic year 2018-2019, and teachers of English, revealed
that authentic materials may occur a significant impact on students’
performance in the writing skill, and make them interesting and motivating
to master the language.
On the basic of literature reading and field work results, some
recommendations have been drawn, in order to attract both teachers’ and
students’ attention on the effect of authentic materials on language proficiency,
which is later on reflected on their achievement.
