Abstract
Abstract:
This work aims to evaluate the physico-chemical quality of groundwater in the basin of
Mellagou -Bouhmama- NE Algeria, and the determination of the mineralization origin in order
to established cartography of Mio-Pliocene quaternary aquifers quality. To study and compare
the spatial distribution of results, thematic maps were developed using Geographic Information
System (GIS). The overall water quality Analysis has revealed that 80% of controlled drillings of
good quality (sulphated calcic facies), 20% are of average quality (strong mineralization, belong
to chlorinated sodic facies).
The interpretation of correlation ratios of the chemical elements shows that the
acquisition of the groundwater mineralization depends on the crossing geological substratum.
