dc.description.abstractAbstract This work seeks clues to existentialism in modern Arab authors' novels, since they have contributed the most to Arab novels through their existentialist themes, making them an exception in the field of .novels and criticism in the Arab world With this work, I aimed to study Sarter's existentialism in carefully selected Arab novels and compare them with other Western novels .that share the same existentialist theme I began with the definition of existentialism, and the Western novel and its influence on the Arab novel. I then addressed the problem: ?why were Arab authors influenced by existentialism After a critical theoretical study of Sarter's existential philosophy and its presence in Western novels, especially in Sarter, I moved on to a practical analysis through a comparative study between the novels of Arab and Western writers. This study takes a closer look at Western existentialist thought and its influence on Arabic novels, with a theoretical, practical, and comparative study of a set of Western novels, especially those by Sarter, and various modern Arabic novels .that address the subject of existentialism Keywords: existentialism – Sarter – Western novel – Arabic novel – influence
