Abstract
The importance of earthworms to soil and society has evolved over time. Results of soil analysis showed that at the studied area, the soil presented a slightly alkaline character. In the present work, we were interested in the forest of Ouled yagoub, Khenchela (Northeastern Algeria). The objective is to find a relationship between some of the chemical properties of the soil and the abundance of earthworms, as well as the count of the species in the studied area. Results showed that we could not record any correlation between the chemical properties of the soil and the abundance of earthworms. On the other hand, we were able to perform the count of a large number of earthworms in the spring period (42 worms), with the presence of the three species: Octodrilus complanatus, Allolobophora molleri et Aporrectodea rosea.
