Abstract
Abstract This study is part of research on groundwater pollution by anthropogenic discharges and on the other hand by the migration of the salty bevel from the Sebkha in response to intensive pumping. The physical-chemical characterization of the waters by field and laboratory measurements makes it possible to define the degree of saline contamination of the waters as well as its spatial extent. 05 groundwater samples and 01 sebkha sample were taken to analyse the water quality variables, chemical analysis tools, types of diagrams were used to assess the water quality for the purposes of irrigation,The results obtained show that the high mineralization of groundwater is essentially linked to the geological nature of the surrounding land. The different physical-chemical parameters is not acceptable for most samples. On the other hand the bacteriological study showed contamination by total coliforms : (07 germs / 100ml) and (10 germs / 100ml) and (1100 germs / 100ml) also Escherichia coli (7 germs /100ml) and (7 germs / 100ml) and (28 germs/100ml) Finally, we can conclude that the groundwater in the Sebkha area is very polluted. This pollution weakens this ecosystem and gradually degrades it despite its status as a unique wetland in the region.
