Abstract
Abstract.
The present study aims to investigate the relationship between
teacher praise and learners’ academic performance as well as
the effects of praise on students’ performance. To reach those
objectives, two questionnaires are formulated as data collection
tools. The first questionnaire is designed for learners in which it
investigates their knowledge to the meaning of teacher praise
and the frequency of receiving it from their teachers. The
second one is designed for teachers in order to check to what
extent they praise their learners, for what reasons, and if their
praise is related to their learners’ performance. The findings are
analyzed quantitatively and revealed that teacher praise is
related to learners’ academic performance. As a result, teachers
who praise their learners frequently will affect their students’
academic performance.
