المنهجية-
تألفت الدراسة من ثلاثة فصول نظرية وفصلين ميدانيين. وقد أُجريت في مدينة خنشلة، واستهدفت عينة مكوّنة من 56 مفردة ا، وهم رؤساء منظمات المجتمع المدني الناشطة محليًا*
تم اعتماد المنهج الوصفي، باعتباره الأنسب لهذا النوع من البحوث، واُستخدمت ثلاث أدوات بحث رئيسية-
استبيان*

Abstract:
The study aimed to investigate the role of civil society organizations in promoting the values of citizenship in public spaces, focusing on three main aspects: awareness-raising, the activities provided, and the monitoring role.
The study was initiated by the following main research question:
How do civil society organizations contribute to promoting citizenship values in the urban public space in the city of Khenchela?
To address this, a general hypothesis was proposed, supported by specific measurable indicators:
General Hypothesis:
•Civil society organizations contribute to enhancing the values of citizenship in the urban public space in the city of Khenchela.
Specific Hypotheses:
1.Awareness-Raising Role:
Civil society organizations contribute to promoting citizenship values through awareness campaigns and communication efforts in the urban public space of Khenchela. This was assessed through the following indicators:
* Communication and awareness using traditional means.
* Communication and awareness using digital media and platforms.
2.Programs and Activities:
The projects and programs developed by civil society organizations contribute to enhancing citizenship in Khenchela’s public space. This was measured through indicators such as:
* Promoting social solidarity programs.
* Encouraging participation in volunteer work projects.
* Organizing training programs and events related to urban social responsibility.
3. Monitoring Role: The monitoring role played by civil society organizations helps reinforce citizenship values in Khenchela’s urban public space. This was assessed through:
* Promoting good governance and supporting the implementation of urban laws and regulations.
* Enhancing monitoring effectiveness by strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders.
Methodology: The study consisted of three theoretical chapters and two field-based chapters. It was conducted in the city of Khenchela, targeting a sample of 56 participants, specifically local civil society organization leaders.
The descriptive approach was adopted, deemed suitable for this type of research. Three main research tools were used:
• A questionnaire
•An observation checklist
•Interviews, including a key qualitative interview with the President of the National Observatory for Civil Society
Statistical analysis tools were employed to process the data effectively.
Results:
•Civil society organizations have a positive impact on promoting citizenship values at various levels and during different events in Khenchela.
•Local associations play a significant role in awareness-raising and monitoring the performance of official institutions, in addition to implementing purposeful programs and providing training and educational opportunities for different social groups.
•The associative sector is particularly valued for its role in social solidarity, volunteerism, and caring for vulnerable community members.
•Most civil society organizations have adopted digital tools and social media platforms, embracing digital transformation as a method of management and community engagement.
