Abstract
The electronic municipality is an innovative mechanism aimed at improving public services at the municipal level through the application of digital systems in managing all administrative activities. The shift towards an electronic municipality helps accelerate procedures and reduce bureaucracy, leading to more efficient and transparent services for citizens. The implementation of this project requires essential conditions such as updating legislation, providing the necessary technical infrastructure, and training municipal staff to apply these systems. The digital transformation involves several stages, starting with the digitization of documents and essential services such as civil status, and expanding to include social services and public procurement. Despite the numerous benefits of this transformation, the project faces several challenges, such as inadequate technical qualifications and the lack of cybersecurity, which hinder the full implementation of the electronic municipality. However, if successful, this transformation contributes to improving administrative performance, enhancing transparency, and reducing corruption, while failure leads to a decline in the effectiveness of the administrative system.
