Abstract
Antibiotic resistance represent a major public health threat. In order to have an idea of the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the university environment, series of swab samples, from various surfaces (bus, faculty, laboratories), were taken. Many colonies were selected after a cultivation and purification step using different selective agars. The macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical characterization of the isolates obtained led to the identification of 13 Gram-positive and negative bacterial strains (5 Staphylococcus, 1 Micrococcus, 4 Enterobacteria and 3 Non-fermentative bacilli). The evaluation of the resistance profiles of these strains to antibiotics, by diffusion in agar medium, revealed high resistance to Tetracycline and Penicillin for Staphylococci. As for Enterobacteria and Non-fermentative bacilli, they showed remarkable resistance against Furan and less resistance to Aztreonam and Tetracycline.
