In order to study the pollen content in the atmosphere and the effect of meteorological parameters including the wind on pollen production, a daily aeropalynological study over a period of more than two months was carried out in the city of Khenchela, using the Durham gravimetric method. Our study has highlighted the abundance of pollens in the atmosphere of the city even in the autumn period. A third of all pollen collected is highly allergic. A total of 1271 grains of pollen belonging to 14 species and genera were captured. in these 14 species and genera, some are unobserved in the environment of the study or catchment site such as cedar and juniperus sp, located outside the field of view; their pollens would be very anemophilous. The number and type of pollen collected shows that Plantago sp and grasses are the most represented in the samples respectively with 411 and 241 on the 1271, which could be explained by their important anemophilic properties. The same for Anethum graveolens also for Phoenix dactylifera very use as tree alignment also for Artimisia sp a medicinal species growing in the peripheral of the city, which has a very strong allergenic potential. Our survey showed that the allergy is under diagnosed and underestimated. Allergy sufferers dramatize the symptoms, and often treat it with self-medication with influenza drugs or often consulting a general doctor.
