Abstract: This research aims at revealing whether authentic materials play an effective role in enhancing students’ intercultural competence. It hypothesized that authentic materials fill the golf between the classroom and the real life situations; also, authentic materials are a suitable way to enhance students’ intercultural competence. This present study is divided into two chapters, one theoretical and one practical. To conduct this research, we opted for the use of the mixed method in which questionnaires are used as a data collection tool with the sample English teachers, Third year Students and Master I students of English at Abbess Laghrour Khenchela. The findings of this present research revealed that the use of authentic materials is a very useful tool to enhance students’ intercultural competence and to fill the gap between real life situations and classrooms situations.
